How To Write An Awesome Essay About Your Career Goals

Ask yourself these questions:


  • What is my career goal?

  • What do you see yourself doing in 10 years?

  • How did I come to have this goal?

  • Which major is best for me?

  • How can I achieve my goals if I have the right skills?
  • How do you want to impact society?

Here’s a paragraph-by-paragraph breakdown:

Start with paragraph 1 to establish your main topic. This should also catch the attention of your reader. If you want to start off your essay in a more generic way (e.g. Try to get creative. The second paragraph: Tell us what made you want to be a professional. You may have been inspired by a family member, a TV program, or even a simple experience. Remember the old saying, “Show don’t Tell.” Other words, you can use a description or story to show that your writing is interesting.

Section 3: Describe your career goals, both short-term and long-term. How will the major you choose help you to achieve your goals? What are the skills you will need to master to achieve your goals? Talk about how you can achieve your long term goals by focusing on your short-term objectives.

The fourth paragraph should focus on your goals for the future and how you plan to impact society. You don’t need to worry if your goals will change. Focus on the overall impact you want to have. You don’t need to worry about how big your impact is.

Your conclusion is the final paragraph. This paragraph can be used to summarize the information you have discussed in previous paragraphs. Try to end your essay in a creative way by asking your readers a simple question or offering a fresh insight. Best of luck!
